OMC- delivering protein solutions for cell signalling molecules.

About OMC

The Oxford Module Consortium (OMC) was set up by a group of collaborators from departments within the University of Oxford with seed-funding from the University's John Fell Fund

  • OMC aims to provide a centralised structure for the noncommercial distribution of a collection of expression vectors encoding molecules that participate in signaling pathways.

  • The vectors will focus on protein:protein interaction domains.

  • The collection will be established by deposition of existing constructs within Oxford and beyond and also by generation of new constructs.

  •  Access to the collection will be through a searchable web-based interface where information on construct design, expression levels and purification will be provided.

  • There will be a service to provide purified protein.

OMC is being developed in collaboration with the Oxford Protein Production Facility (OPPF) which is part of the Structural Biology Division of the Department of Medicine, Oxford University.  OPPF is situtated within the Henry Wellcome Building for Genomic Medicine on the Churchill Hospital site in Headington, Oxford.

We plan to produce libraries of constructs and purified proteins.  Proof of principle has been established for the first two hundred targets.
